Call for Tools
The Tools Session of the II Brazilian Symposium on Software Components, Architectures and Reuse (II SBCARS) is a forum for interchange of experiences and solutions developed by universities, research centers, and companies in the fields of software components, architectures, reuse, and related topics.
Authors are invited to submit tools describing automated solutions to topics in the following non-exhaustive list:
- Software components
- Software architectures
- Software reuse
- Repositories, Change and Version Management
- Code and Documentation Generators
- Extraction and Construction of Software Architectures and Components
- MDA and UML Component-based software development
- Productivity and Estimates for Reuse
- Evaluation, Selection and Testing of Software Components
- Reuse and Persistence Solutions
- Domain oriented and Product Line oriented Reuse
Submission Instructions
Tools Submission Deadline
June 23rd, 2008.
Papers describing tools should include, at least, the following topics:
- problem domain and the advantages of the tool application
- tool architecture
- at least one screenshot of the tool, if it applies
- core functionalities
- development effort, code size, tools and libraries
- a URL address on the Internet where the tool is available for use or for download, it that is the case
Papers describing tools should not exceed 8 (eight) A4 pages (single column), including all pages, references and appendices.
Papers can be submitted in Portuguese or in English at https://submissoes.sbc.org.br/sbcars2008.
Electronic files must be submitted in Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF), readable by Adobe Acrobat Reader. All papers should follow the template available at: http://www.sbc.org.br.
Authors can allow their tools to be directly evaluated by tool referees. We advise authors to offer an Internet address during the tools evaluation period. Hands on evaluation increases the chance of paper acceptance.
The evaluation process will take into account the quality of aspects such as: (a) relevance of the tool, (b) its documentation, (c) the submitted paper and (d) the possibility of a live demonstration during the Tools Session.
Deadlines
- Tools Session submission deadline: June 23rd, 2008
- Notification of acceptance: July 22nd, 2008
- Final version: August 1st, 2008
Acceptance
The accepted papers on tools will be published in specific proceedings of the Tools Session.
