Moirè Image Analysis

The goal of this project is to infere the topography of a surface using Moiré shadows effect. The capture of these structures generates information that can be used in various fields such as medical image analysis, reconstruction of 3D objects, analysis of products in a production line, among others. In the following image we can see the projection of Moiré shadows on the face of a mannequin.

In this project the Moirè shadows are being projected on the backs of human beings in order to evaluate spinal deformities and deviations, such as scoliosis or lordosis, as can be seen on Figure 15.
